Project Title: Assessment of the judicial reforms and efficiency in court proceedings

Project goal
The objective of the project is to strengthen the independency, efficiency and impartiality of the judiciary in the Republic of Macedonia and to contribute to proper implementation of the judicial reforms as defined in the strategic documents of the country for an EU integration.
The envisaged activities: trial monitoring, workshops and publication of an analytical report.
The target group is consisted of: Basic Courts, Court of Second Instance, Public’s Prosecution Office, Ministry of Justice, Academy for training judges and prosecutors, Ministry of Interior, Secretariat for EU Integration and the general public. |
Project activities
- Assessment of the situation in the judiciary with a comparative analysis to the one in 2006
- Increased knowledge of the professional public that will contribute to better and more successful processing of the cases in the judicial institutions

Project Title: Improving the role of the judiciary in providing response to organized crime in the country
|

Project goal
This is a capacity building project for the Coalition “All for Fair Trials” and focusås on implementation of our recommendations which are a result of the multi-year process of trial monitoring of cases related to organized crime in general, and more specifically trafficking in human beings and corruption.
The need for Coalition’s engagement in such an activity comes from recommendations from the 2008 Evaluation Report on the Trial Monitoring Programme of the Coalition. The Report underlines the need for the Coalition to become more active in contributing to the ongoing judicial reform process in the country and put an extra focus on the recommendations from its reports.
Project overall goal is to contribute to strengthening the role of the judiciary in order to appropriately address legislative and institutional needs in fighting organized crime. |

- Signing of a Memorandum for cooperation with Academy for Judges and Prosecutors and a Memorandum for cooperation with the Ombudsman

Project Title:Corruption Trial Monitoring Programme

Project goal
The overall goal of the project is to raise the awareness among legal professionals and the public on the judiciary’s and criminal justice response to corruption and ultimately to contribute to a society free of corruption where all individuals enjoy equal treatment.The project Corruption Trial Monitoring Programme will measure whether there is an improvement in the implementation of the existing laws and how efficient the legal procedure in the judiciary is. |

Project: Establishing Corruption Trial Monitoring Programme
Period of implementation: January, 2008 - December, 2009
Project goal
Establishing Corruption Trial Monitoring Programme project comes as a result of the successful implementation of the preparatory, needs assessment phase, conducted throughout May-December 2007. In 2008, the project envisages establishment of a corruption trial monitoring programme within the coalition “All for Fair Trials” that will monitor the corruption related cases in the basic courts in Republic of Macedonia, supplemented by a publication of an analytical report of the received data, as well as organization of a round table and a press conference to raise the awareness among the professionals and the citizens of the country.
Through establishing a Corruption Trial Monitoring Programme for criminal cases related to corruption, the Coalition “All for Fair Trials” will measure whether the existing laws are being properly implemented and how efficient the legal procedure in the judiciary is. The Programme will be a witness of the changes and the improvements of the judicial system of Macedonia that strives to comply with those of the EU countries, and through its analytical report and given recommendations there, will be a constructive partner and free of charge consultant to the Government of the Republic of Macedonia contributing to the country’s rapprochement towards EU.
