Monitoring of the courts trials

     

During the period from July 2003 to July 2004 a total of 643 criminal cases at 1010 hearings and 720 civil cases at 907 hearings were monitored.

The coordination of the observers is conducted through a national office in Skopje and 7 regional offices in:

  • Bitola- Local coordinator Gorgi Josevski (Civil tracks)
  • Gostivar- Local coordinator Goca Burevska (Mesecina)
  • Tetovo- Local coordinator Zoran Ilievski (CDR)
  • Skopje- Local coordinator Dance Danilovska (Youth educational forum )
  • Kumanovo- Local coordinator Feat Kamberovski (ARKA )
  • Stip - Local coordinator Boris Sarkovski (ANI )
  • Kavadarci- Local coordinator Biljana Taseva (SPPMD )

The Coalition gave priority to the following topics within criminal area:

  • Human trafficking, domestic violence
  • Children and youth
  • Corruption, property and labour issues
  • Violation of human rights and police abuse

Areas of interest for monitoring civil cases are:

•  Family Law cases (marital disputes, paternal and maternal disputes, child and spouse support disputes, child care disputes and property adjustment disputes)

•  Civil cases (ownership disputes, employment and occupation rights disputes, damage disputes, fiduciary duty disputes, company disputes)

• Employment disputes.
