"Countrywide observation of Trafficking in Human Beings Related Trials"

In order to support the National action plan for fighting Trafficking in Human Beings and Illegal migration of the Government of Republic of Macedonia, Coalition “ All for fair trials ” from January 2005 started with the project “Countrywide observation of trafficking in Human Beings related trials.”

 

Specially chosen observers, lawyers and attorneys, with more then a year of experience in monitoring of trials in the frame of the Coalition activities started with observation of cases related to the criminal acts: Trafficking in Human beings, Mediation in prostitution and Smuggling of migrants in all Basic courts in Macedonia .

 

Due to increasing their knowledge in the area of trafficking in Human Beings and with that increasing the quality of the gathered information during the research, on 24 and 25 of December additional training has been organized.

Jovan Ilievski Public Prosecutor

•  The phenomena of human trafficking (three basic elements, development of the feature as a part of the organized crime, differences with mediation in prostitution and migration)

•  Human trafficking as severe violation of human rights and freedom

•  International regulatives (Convention's and protocol's, United Nations Principals and directions, OSCE and UNICEF documents)

 

D-r Gorgi Hadzi Angelkovski, neuropsychiatries

•  Psychological emotional and physical harm of the victim's of human trafficking (psycho trauma's, harming the reproduction organs, HIV)

 

Ivona Zakoska, IOM representative

•  The rights of the victim (the method of information for the rights of the victim, the right to an effective legal remedy, compensation of damdages, protection from threats, protection of privacy and anonimity, deportation in the country of origin)

•  IOM presentation (the siotuation with the victims of human trafficking, activities in the transit center, the type of assistance)

 

Sanija Burageva MOI represntative

•  MOI presentation (Case analysis, undertaken activities and problems that MOI is facing during the prosecution of criminal acts in the field of human trafficking/special attention to trafficking with children)

•  Case analysis, procedural problems that the judges are facing in field of human trafficking

 

Tanja Mihajlova, Defense lawyer

•  Activities of the NGO sector (current results in the field of prevention and activities in raising awareness of teh citizens)
